What Are Community Health Worker Core Competencies?
Community Health Worker Core Competencies are the skills that Community Health Workers need to be successful and effectively support their communities on a range of issues. These core competencies build on skills and experiences that Community Health Workers bring to their work and also help them to grow professionally and work in a variety of settings.
The Community Health Worker Core Competences listed below are based on nationally recognized core competencies used by community health worker organizations across the country and were developed through information collected in the HRSA National Community Health Worker study.
What Is Included?
Our Community Health Worker Core Competencies Training offers modules covering key skill areas for Community Health Workers, regardless of the program they are supporting or their specific responsibilities. Each module can be customized to match the specifics of your program, your organization, and the work that your staff of Community Health Workers are or will be doing.
