Two MHP Salud staff members from Michigan attended the sixth annual Community Health Worker Conference in Grand Rapids last week.
This year’s conference, called “Recognizing the Frontline: Community Health Workers Key to Successful Healthy Living,” focused on:
•The Affordable Care Act and its impact on the role of Community Health Workers (CHWs)
•The CHW model as the leading strategy for dispersing effective health messages in the community
•CHW education on working with issues of diversity and social stigmas in the community
MHP Salud exhibited a booth and presented a poster entitled “Promotores(as) Connect: Mobilizing the CHW Workforce Through Technology.” The poster displayed information about MHP Salud’s current initiative to bring mobile technology into CHW/Promotor(a) program evaluation methods.
