Training
Our team of experts has developed highly-focused and in-demand training to build the capacity of organizations looking to start or improve upon their own Community Health Worker programs.
A focus of our organization is to strengthen and support the CHW profession as a sustainable and cost-effective way for organizations to address health concerns in their communities. That is why our team of experts has developed highly-focused and in-demand training to build the capacity of organizations looking to start or improve upon their own Community Health Worker programs.
Built from 35 years of experience implementing CHW programs, our training includes real-world examples, developed and tested strategies, and best-in-business instructional materials. Additionally, the information provided in our training aligns with the C3 Project Core Competencies for Community Health Workers standards, many state certification programs, and recognized best practices within the CHW profession.
Training that Suits Your Unique Needs
Over the years, we’ve trained Community Health Workers from hundreds of different organizations. We understand that each organization faces unique challenges, which is why our training sessions focus on the core needs that any CHW must have to be successful in their role.
In our training sessions we cover topics such as the skills and personal qualities required to be a successful CHW, mastering health education techniques for any population, and the various roles CHWs can play within an organization. We explore strategies to increase the effectiveness of CHWs, provide knowledge around the impact that culture has on health, and examine the ethical considerations inherent to the CHW role. Additionally, we look at the professional development of CHWs as they move into supervisory roles and provide information about the return on investment of CHW programs and how to demonstrate the financial worth of the CHW profession.
Our training is backed by our expertise working in diverse communities and is designed with information and input gathered from health centers and community-based organizations from around the country. We pull from our original best-in-class L.E.A.D. Curriculum and our diverse array of partners to provide population-specific information and resources on emerging health issues. From our COVID-19 Directory for CHWs and our Social Determinants of Health reports to our monthly technical assistance calls, organizations that participate receive the most up-to-date and reliable information, tools, and resources.
Training is provided in-person* or virtually through our newly developed interactive virtual classroom.
