Community Health Worker Program Evaluation Workshop

Evaluating outcomes is essential not only for managing and sustaining Community Health Worker (CHW) programs, but also for ensuring meaningful service to the community. This workshop will give your organization an understanding of what CHW program evaluation is, the steps involved, and how to carry them out. You will also have opportunities to identify your organization’s evaluation resources and needs, as well as next steps for advancing CHW program evaluation at your organization. This is an introductory level workshop; no prior evaluation knowledge or experience is expected or required.

Overview

This 6-hour workshop can be offered online or in-person at a site of your choosing. Expert MHP Salud evaluation staff will guide your team through interactive learning sessions that include a comprehensive evaluation workbook. At the workshops conclusion, your team will have developed an analysis on your organization’s evaluation resources, additional evaluation needs, and the next steps to advance your organization’s CHW program evaluation.

Our workshops are built on over 35 years of our organizational experience implementing and running CHW programs. Expert MHP Salud staff provide recommendations based on experienced gained from past programs and outcomes while guiding attendees through a series of team-based exercises, including brainstorming, organizational assessments, and other collaborative activities.

Workshop Objectives

Participants will leave the workshop with an understanding of evaluation for CHW programs and be able to use this information to advance this aspect of their program. The objectives for this session are to:

  • Understand evaluation and your relationship to it.
  • Understand what is involved in completing a Community Needs and Resources Assessment using the CHW model.
  • Understand goals and objectives and the process for developing SMART objectives.
  • Identify principles and strategies for collecting data and resolving common CHW data collection challenges.
  • Identify key approaches and useful techniques for data analysis and reporting.
  • Identify and advance your organization’s evaluation abilities.

This workshop is 6 hours and can be provided as a live, fully interactive virtual training for $5,329 for up to 10 participants or on-site at the location of your choice for $7,149* for up to 20 participants. (*Includes all travel costs for a training location within the continental United States. Note: travel costs will be prorated if multiple on-site training sessions are purchased for the same location and time period.)
