This toolkit is intended to help Certified Application Counselor supervisors support their CACs through the initial training and beyond. It is divided into three sections: “Reinforcing CMS Training,” “Supplemental Skills,” and “On-going Training” that explain and present strategies, tools, and activities that can be used to further reinforce the material presented in the CMS training, to supplement the material from the trainings, and to continue to support CACs after the conclusion of the training period.

This bilingual tool can be printed into a pamphlet that participants can use to track their A1C and other biometric data. It includes a space to keep a record of changes in weight, BMI and A1C across multiple dates, and it includes tips for controlling symptoms of diabetes in both English and Spanish. The tool is meant to be printed and kept in a purse or wallet.

Instinto Maternal program travels north to follow migrants

MHP Salud’s Instinto Maternal program that seeks to spread best community practices in breastfeeding has migrated to follow the migrant farm workers it serves. The W. K. Kellogg Foundation-funded program kicked off last December in west Florida, and it has moved north for the summer, where it will spend five months in northwest Ohio and west Michigan.
