Getting Started: Frequently Asked Questions

How do we schedule a training? How soon can we schedule?

To schedule a training contact us and we’ll walk you through the process from selecting units to scheduling dates. Trainings are scheduled a minimum of 60 days in advance.

I am a Program Manager with several CHWs who do not have any on-the-ground experience. Where should I start?

The CHW Foundations training will provide the core skills to set CHWs up for success as they enter the field. Learn more here.

I am looking to provide training for several CHWs who have been working in the field for several years. What sessions are right for me?

If you’re uncertain which level is best for your experienced CHWs, we can start with a quick, free, online pre-training assessment for each participant that will help match their current skill set to our training levels. Contact us for more info about the pre-test process.

Can supervisors attend CHW training? What about other team members that work with CHWs?

No; something we love about the L.E.A.D. curriculum is that it’s tailored to specific audiences to encourage open discussion among peers and engage participants from their perspective. The CHW Supervisor Training and the Professions Working with CHW Training offer supervisors and other team members the opportunity to be engaged in sessions that focus on their roles and perspectives.

What is the pre-assessment process? How is it delivered and what does it cost?

All participants of our trainings take both pre- and post-training assessments so we can ensure that the content we are providing is relevant, engaging, and informative. Pre-assessments are completed online by all participants before training begins through a link sent to each person’s email. The process is easy, quick (less than 20 minutes if a participant is taking a full level pre-assessment and sometimes as little as 3 minutes) and there is no additional cost to you.

Can participants who test into a higher level of training participate in earlier levels of training?

Yes! You are welcome to have more experienced CHWs participate in earlier levels of training.

Training Logistics

Are all sessions available virtually and on-site? Do costs differ?

How many participants are allowed in each session?

With our emphasis on small groups, we limit virtual trainings to 10 participants per trainer and on-site trainings to 20 participants per trainer. We are happy to accommodate larger groups by providing additional trainers at an additional cost.
