Involving Children and Parents in Diabetes Health Education for Youth
Health education is one of the core components of decreasing the prevalence of diabetes and improving health outcomes around the disease, especially when it comes to children. The earlier in a child’s life that they can learn healthy habits, the better their health outcomes will be later in life. Doing this establishes a foundation that will make it easier to maintain healthy behaviors and avoid the controllable factors that contribute to diabetes onset as adults.

Promotores(as) have been getting enormous attention in recent years for their potential impact on directly connecting difficult-to-reach populations and health care. MHP Salud has built several programs that enable Promotores(as) to do just that.
Promote Healing Among Survivors of Domestic Violence with Our Free, Bilingual Support Group Facilitator’s Guide
The Arte de Sobrevivir support group aims to promote healing among women who are primary or secondary survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and/or stalking. This guide builds on the existing strengths of Latina women and utilizes culturally informed tools and approaches. Participants are not only provided with information and form supportive networks with other women in their community, but they also engage in arts and craft projects, which can open space for discussion and healing.
