Tres maneras en que COVID-19 ha afectado a los cuidadores hispanos y latinos de adultos mayores

Hemos aprendido mucho sobre cómo los efectos del virus han afectado desproporcionadamente a algunos grupos. Sabemos que los hispanos/latinos se vieron particularmente afectados debido a un aumento en la exposición, la vulnerabilidad a las complicaciones graves del virus y una vacilación inicial en recibir la vacuna. También sabemos que las restricciones en la vida diaria también han puesto presión sobre los cuidadores dentro de la comunidad hispana/latina.

Inside Texas’ Border Communities: What are Colonias?

Many of MHP Salud’s direct service programs operate inside the Rio Grande Valley’s colonias, which are defined by The Texas Office of the Secretary of State as residential areas along the Texas-Mexico border that may lack basic living necessities like potable water, septic or sewer systems, electricity, paved roads, or safe and sanitary housing.
