Community Health Workers and COVID-19
COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. It has been impacting countries around the world, including the United States. Most people infected will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment, however, older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. This resource covers how Community Health Workers are uniquely equipped to help the community cope with challenges faced due to COVID-19.
